Environmental Commitment
Sustainability is a strategic priority for Meridan - not a marketing exercise. We are building a structured, measurable environmental program across our entire platform.
OUR APPROACH
A Real Commitment, Not a Checkbox
Meridan was formed in 2024 through the combination of several established pharmaceutical packaging operations. As a newly unified platform, we have a rare opportunity to build environmental sustainability into the foundation of the company rather than retrofitting it onto legacy systems. We are taking that opportunity seriously.
Our approach to sustainability is structured around three pillars: understanding our environmental footprint through rigorous measurement, investing in operational improvements that reduce energy consumption and waste, and collaborating with customers to develop packaging solutions that are both environmentally responsible and compliant with the demanding regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.
We are early in this journey, and we believe that honesty about where we stand is more valuable than overstating our progress. The sections below describe what we are doing today, what we are planning, and the timelines we are working toward. We will update this information regularly as we reach milestones and establish verified data.

CURRENT STATUS
Where We Are Today
As a company formed in 2024 through the combination of several independent operations, Meridan is in the process of establishing comprehensive baseline environmental metrics across all three facilities. Each legacy operation had varying levels of environmental tracking and reporting, and one of our first priorities has been to build a unified measurement framework that gives us accurate, comparable data across the entire platform.
This baseline work is essential. Without reliable data on energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and waste generation at each facility, it is impossible to set credible reduction targets or measure progress against them. We are investing in the metering infrastructure, data systems, and third-party partnerships needed to build this foundation properly.
We expect to complete our first comprehensive environmental baseline by the end of 2025. Once that baseline is established, we will publish verified data and set specific, measurable reduction targets aligned with recognized frameworks including the GHG Protocol and the Science Based Targets initiative.
PARTNERSHIP
Aligned with Customer Expectations
Major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies are increasingly requiring detailed environmental data from their supply chain partners. This is not an emerging trend - it is a present reality. Meridan regularly receives ESG questionnaires, sustainability assessments, and supplier qualification surveys from customers that include specific questions about greenhouse gas emissions, energy management, waste diversion rates, and environmental management system certifications.
We understand that our customers have made public commitments to reduce Scope 3 emissions across their value chains, and that contract packaging partners like Meridan are a meaningful component of those commitments. As a result, we are actively investing in the capabilities, data infrastructure, and external partnerships needed to provide our customers with the environmental data they require - including facility-level greenhouse gas emissions data, energy consumption reporting, waste metrics, and progress toward science-based targets.
Our goal is not simply to respond to customer questionnaires, but to become a supply chain partner that actively contributes to our customers' sustainability objectives. We see this as both a responsibility and a competitive advantage. The pharmaceutical companies we serve are choosing partners who can demonstrate genuine, measurable environmental progress, and Meridan is committed to being that kind of partner.
MILESTONES
Sustainability Goals & Roadmap
Concrete targets with specific timelines. We will report progress against these goals publicly as we advance.
Complete First Comprehensive GHG Inventory
Conduct a full Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas inventory across all three facilities, establishing the baseline from which all future reduction targets will be measured.
Establish Science-Based Emissions Reduction Targets
Submit emissions reduction targets to the Science Based Targets initiative for validation, aligned with the level of decarbonization required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Implement Renewable Energy Procurement Strategy
Evaluate and begin execution of a renewable energy procurement strategy across all facilities, including power purchase agreements, renewable energy certificates, and on-site generation where feasible.
Achieve ISO 14001 Certification at All Facilities
Implement and certify an environmental management system conforming to ISO 14001 at all three Meridan facilities, providing a structured framework for continuous environmental improvement.
Achieve 90% Landfill Diversion Rate
Reach a 90% landfill diversion rate across all facilities through expanded recycling programs, waste-to-energy partnerships, composting, and material recovery initiatives.
